The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides a wide variety of services to assist those in need. One of the services is the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room located near downtown San Antonio, at 928 W. Commerce. At this location three nutritious meals are served each day, Monday-Saturday and two meals on Sunday. Thousands and thousands of meals are served to homeless and hungry men, women, and children eat each year. Since starting the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room in November 1985, more than four million meals have been served.

Some of the community services provided by this 501 (c) (3) charity are:

• Nutritious hot meals daily for the homeless and hungry who come and eat  at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room
• Food boxes for the hungry that have a place to live but not enough money to buy food to feed their families.  
• Financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, prescription medicines and funerals
• Clothing assistance so families can go to school or work
• Personal care items and clothing for the homeless that we feed 
• Disaster assistance in times of natural disasters that effect our area
• Referral service for 35,000 callers each year

ASHES strives to make an impact in the communities it visits for the Annual Conference. To that end, ASHES invites everyone to donate a minimum of $1.00. Volunteers will be taking donations at all of the events - Welcome Reception, Marketplace, General Sessions, etc. Just drop your dollar or more in and help ASHES help the San Antonio Community.
