2008 Affiliated Society Awards

ASHES members in good standing will be given the opportunity in mid August to cast their vote for the Environmental Stewardship Award, the Innovator Award, and the Recognition Program Award. This is an unprecedented opportunity for ASHES members to recognize their peers and to participate in the selection process. Votes will be cast online and members will be given ample time to review the applications. All applicants will remain anonymous and award winners will be announced at the annual meeting in September. More information on application review and on how to vote will be distributed as applications are posted and the voting begins.

ASHES will begin accepting applications for 2008 Awards effective immediately. Not only do we encourage you to nominate your peers, but don't hesitate to nominate yourselves as well. This is a great opportunity for you to demonstrate to the membership the stellar work you have been doing in your hospitals and in your communities. The nomination and selections process for all awards will remain consistent with what we did last year.

General Information:

  • Member Awards: Nominees must be ASHES members in good standing to qualify.
  • Affiliated Society Awards: Only Affiliated Societies of the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services in good standing are eligible to apply for an award.  All activities to be considered for an award must have taken place, at least in part, during the period, March 31, 2007 - May 1, 2008.  Only the Affiliated Society president can nominate their society or an individual for an award.
  • Candidates may be nominated by an ASHES member or non-member or may nominate themselves.
  • The 2008 Recognition Committee will select award winners based on submitted nominations.  The committee may request additional information if needed.
    All submissions become the property of ASHES.
  • Awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet at the 23rd Annual Conference in September  in San Antonio, Texas.

  1. Please select the award for submission and click on the corresponding link. 
  2. Review the criteria  for each award and submit the application for the award that best fits your own personal experience or for a person you feel best deserves that award.
  3. Application must be received by August 8, 2008.
  4. Send all supporting materials via email to ASHES at ashes@aha.org
