This online infection control course is designed for non-clinical staff in health care facilities. The content of this program covers a wide spectrum of infection control topics – from a brief introduction to the microbiology of major organisms like Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and Clostridium difficile to transmission and prevention. The course also covers content on disease outbreaks, precautions, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), guidance documents from the CDC, and OSHA standards for Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP).
This online course is designed as a self-directed educational program for non-clinical health care employees. Individuals are responsible for logging on to the course and completing the assigned reading material and answer all required assignments each week. Participants of this program will collaborate, interact, review material, and ultimately, learn from the reading materials and each other’s knowledge and experiences.
Course Objective:
The objective of this course is to facilitate an adult learning and collaborative environment in which non-clinical managers and directors can expand their knowledge and prepare for the many challenges facing healthcare facilities related to spread of infectious diseases.
