VA, DOD-MedCom Awarded Long-term Commitment Award

St. Louis, October 1, 2007 - The United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the United States Army Medical Command were recognized by the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services of the American Hospital Association for their 20 year commitment to the Society and the healthcare environmental services profession.

"While ASHES has several large membership groups, VA and MedCom were the original visionaries", says Patti Costello, ASHES Executive Director. 

This special "Leadership, Partnership, and Extraordinary Vision Award" was presented to both organizations for their commitment in membership and conference participation. The presentation took place during the opening ceremonies at the 2007 ASHES Annual Conference.
