ASHES Appoints a Vice President, and Additional  Executive Committee Member to the Board of Directors

Chicago, February 7, 2008: The American Society of Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) approved two new appointments at the January board meeting from among the 2008 sitting Board of Directors.

Brett Higgins, CHESP, Director of Environmental Services; Genesis Health System, Davenport, Iowa was appointed Vice President of the ASHES board of directors and will also serve on the executive committee. Higgins has over 20 years in health care environmental services. An ASHES member since 1998, Higgins has served two terms on the board, most recently as President and Past President. 2008 is Higgins last year serving at the ASHES Board; where he has served as President and Past President.

Rounding out the executive committee is Bill Slezak, Healthcare Segment Manager for Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Winchester, VA, and ASHES Industry Liaison to ASHES. Slezak was appointed to fill a vacant slot on the Executive Committee in accordance with ASHES bylaws. His service experience on the ASHES board coupled with his passion for healthcare and environmental services and his business expertise adds great depth to the executive committee.

Higgins' and Slezak's appointments are effective immediately and their term will expire on December 31, 2008.
