Fiona Nemetz Named ASHES 2009 Vice President
Chicago, February 19, 2009: —The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) announced Fiona Nemetz, CHESP, has been appointed Society vice president for 2009.
Nemetz is the Director of Environmental Services, Patient Transport, Safety and Parking at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Nemetz has been an ASHES member since 1993 and is currently serving the second year of her term as an At-Large board member. She has over 26 years of experience and 16 years in health care, all of which have been spent in environmental services.
“I am humbled to serve this great organization and I am excited to be a part of the strategic direction ASHES is headed,” said Nemetz. “With a razor sharp focus on patient safety, the role of the environment in infection, demand for sound business metrics and regulatory compliance, this is a critical time for environmental services professionals to lead and demonstrate value to their organizations. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and will be looking to the ASHES membership to assist the Board and the Advisory Council with the plans we have for 2009-2011 and beyond.”
